De rally groep A.
De DTM versie
The gr. N is "close" to stock class racing except
for gr. N suspension, stripped, cage, ca. 220 hp motor.
Gr. A or DTM cars had uni-ball suspensions, the chassis/cage
is competely different, gearbox, diff, gearbox & diff cooling,
entirely different engine internals, large oil pan or dry sump,
airbox & alpha N piggy back, later ECU4 and dual spark packs,
8 injectors, slide throttles, different radiator, different
exhaust system, different brakes and wheel hub assemblies,
air jacks, etc.
Its a very long list of items. If you look at the gr. A
cataluge almost every area of the car gets different parts.
even things like oil filter head, water pump, fuel pressure
regulator, fuel rails, injectors, spark plugs, pullies, steering
rack, to generator. various cams, valves, valve springs, tappets,
cyl. heads. different head gasket. various piston styles, from 3 ring
packs to 2 ring pack. short and long rods. even the crank is
different. different strenghtened engine blocks came later.
the rod and crank bearings are also different.
There were 7 types of S14 engine from motorsport alone.
From the 2.0L BTCC engine, DTM engines, to rally engines and hill climb engines.
back in the day, a sport evo cost roughly 90000 DM delivered.
A DTM car was over 300000 DM. Performance wise there is no
comparison of a gr. N to a DTM car.
A good driver may drive 8:40-8:45 lap on the nordschleife proper
in a gr. N car, a DTM car could manage 7:20-7:30 times.
Easy tiger...Er wordt toch uitgelegd wat het verschil is? Misschien moet je je vraag beter formuleren.Mathieu schreef:Hier wordt verteld over het verschil van een group N en een A.
De vraag was anders.
