Opel GT was one of those collaborative efforts between GM and their German subsidiary Opel which, like most things they do together, wasn’t a very big success. The GT and its American counterpart Pontiac Solstice were both dropped after a few years in production. Now a German specialist decided to revisit the old sports car and make it even more American.


Mädchen & Motoren came up with this crazy idea for a LS3-powered Opel GT that is fully stripped-out and equipped with lots of racing paraphernalia. It all apparently began with a Cam Shaft wrap on the exterior, but once they started fiddling with the GT, they just couldn’t stop.

So they took all the “unnecessary” stuff out of the car, including the standard engine, and made it weigh only 1.150 kg. Then they squeezed a 6.2 liter Corvette LS3-engine into it, tuned with a hot cam and a carbon airbox to make 530 horsepower.

Bespoke exhaust manifolds and exhaust system, Tremec-gearbox TR-6060 from Corvette ZR1, Porsche GT3 RS braking system, and KW Competition suspension kit, plus a set of 11×18 inch GT-Racing rims from ATS with 295/30 tires, Recaro seats and Racelogic traction control are among the other sporty features of this awesome LS3-Powered Opel GT.

In een barnfind die binnenkort de veiling opgaat zijn een hoop RWD Opels gevonden. De jaren 80 herleven weer, hopelijk.
