Sportec BMW M135i: More power, precision and fun
Sportec is particularly well-known for its precision and love of detail, as well as its products’
performance always being serious and practical. Products are now available from this company
with these properties for BMW models too. The high-end brand from Bavaria was recently
added to the portfolio, alongside Porsche, Audi and VW.
Starting with a particularly sporty model ex factory:
the BMW M135i SB 370
Even in series, the car has 320 PS and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. Sportec’s performance
optimisation makes it even more dynamic. The first stage performance upgrade is to reconfigure the series 1 software on our own all-wheel drive test stand. After this, the engine releases
355 PS under the bonnet and achieves a maximum torque of roughly 510 Nm. This already
improves the car’s longitudinal dynamics considerably. The Bavarian reaches 100 km/h in just
4.8 seconds and its top speed increases by roughly 20 km/h.
In the second stage of the performance upgrade, a valve-controlled sports exhaust including
sports catalytic converters is also used besides reconfiguring the engine control unit. In combination with the improved performance by the software, the compact car then has an incredible 370 PS and heaves 530 Nm torque onto the crankshaft of the M Performance TwinPower
Turbo 6 cylinder series petrol engine. As a result, it sprints to 100 km/h from a standing
position in just 4.6 seconds and the top speed increases by roughly 28 km/h compared to the
series model.
To transfer this power well to the tarmac, it can also be lowered using sports springs or an
adjustable complete suspension unit is even available as a retrofit. Sportec is also presenting
its BMW alloy rim in Y-spoke design for the first time. The wheel is available in 9” and 10” x 19
inch in the colours “silk gloss black” and “matt titanium”. The 9 inch wide version is coming
onto the market in a 22 inch and 10 inch version with a rim offset of 25.
This means the wheels can be fitted to the body on the M1 and the current M3 without any
changes. The five filigree Y-spokes not only look really sporty but they also reduce the unsprung mass thanks to their low weight (8.5 kilos in 9 x 19 inch, 9.5 kilos in 10 x 19 inch).

Als je al iets aan zou passen (en ik zeg: als), dan zou ik het eerder zoeken in onderstelaanpassingen of een sper dan in meer vermogen.

Tja bij bijv 'n F10 M5 hier is 560pk ook niet genoeg dus ik zie 't probleem niet eigenlijk.

Tuurlijk snap ik en weet ik dat een écht sperdiff wel de icing on the cake is, maar die Versus 135i deed 't ook prima op Klein Hockenheim, met inderdaad wat meer grunt.
