Micheal,
Schoonhouden is helaas niet mn sterkste punt.
Joopie,
Coming up!

Re: Project AE86.
Ok, so you guys don't think the project is dead, here is a little update...
Progress is slow though that is a pitty, but alot of thing are nearing completion.
First up the tank, I put the Walbro pump in, which involved a bit of tweaking of the wires.
The standard connectors did not fit the Walbro, luckily a collegue found the exact same connectors and we had a tool to fit them properly, so in the end it sat factory style.
New pump on a new bracket in a new tank:

Under the car:

Then this arrived from the UK, an orignal RS200 propshaft:

Fitting for fitment:

No idea how much play I should keep in the setup I went with 15mm, anyone know if this is ok?
Anyway, it is welded up now, but not finished yet as it needs new bearings, did put it under the car already, sits pretty good imo:

Re: Project AE86.
Radiator work is still in progress, I got me a Mitsubitshi Space wagon shroud with fan to mate to the Scenic radiator.
It was the closest to fitting remotly ok, but it involved work.
The width was almost ok, but as you can see it was to short in heigth, well that is almost fixed but no pics yet.
Here you can see the gap, the mounting brackets are also custom made:

I was working on the feul lines that run from the chassis to the tank under the car, I felt they were hanging to loosely, so I made 3 stainless steel brackets of which the middle is fastened to the chassis.
And some plastic dividers:

The feul line in the engine bay was to short to my liking so I made another one, plus I made the return line.
You can also see the bracket we made for the pressure regulator.
Only line to be fitted now is the one from the filter to the fuel line, then the feul system is done!!

The only brake lines to made are the ones on the rear axle, I began with the one that comes from the chassis to the axle.
I made a looping in it to have enough play for the movement of the axle when driving, but the exhaust is going to be thruogh there aswel, what do guys think?

More later.

Re: Project AE86.
After contemplating about making a new stainless steel exhaust manifold I decided to remodel the original one.
Purely for financial reasons though, I will probaly make a stainless one later.
So started some work on that:

The battery needed a place to sit, and I decided to relocate it to the trunk.
Found this on the junkyard, it is a batteryholder from a Nissan Almera Tino:

And of course it won't fit, I'm never that lucky.
So...:

...and presto

Few new parts, more is on the way:

Payed a visit to the bling factory:

and the sun was out for the first time this year, so a picture had to be taken.
As she is atm:

Re: Project AE86.
Ok, small update.
Few things I'm pretty pleased about.
First is the brake system is finished!
Clutch and throttle were already finished a while ago so all the pedals are working now!
The rear axle was the last part to be made, this is how I made it:

Second thing I am REALLY happy with is the universal joint for the steering, I was pretty worried about this, but luckily the best option was actually realizeable. (if that is a word lol)
Because of the position of the engine the subframe had to be lowered, which also meant the steering rack was lowered, so the original joint was to short.
The original joint consists of two parts (plus the bearings etc), one is shorter than the other, so I got a second joint and a friend of mine connected the two longer parts together and now it fits perfect!:

Than I had some more parts painted, like the prop shaft:

And some other parts which I don't have pictures of yet.
Right, more soon.
