Het begint er al aardig op te lijken dat dit dé nieuwe AE86 wordt Aram. Leuk project, er wordt weer eens een AE86 gered in plaats van gesloopt.

Ik zoek nu nog alleen een voorraam, maar ik heb een adresje die verwarmde verkoopt.
En 2 voorschermen, die zijn moeilijk te vinden.

And I did some bodywork on the doors, turned out ok in my book.














Monday I'll bring the front fenders and the 2 doors to the sandblaster, the hood en boot are almost rustfree so they don't need to be sandblasted.

And I picked up the chassis from storage so I can get it ready for painting!

I noticed a spot of rust after the car was painted, so unfortunatly I had to grind and weld on the painted chassis again.

Next up is the tank, the brackets which hold the braces still had to be welded on.
They were cut out of the body when restauration began so I needed to remove the old metal and make a new bottom.
Then weld everything to the chassis:





And viola, welded in place:





And then the first plaster went on!



Tommorow my friend the proffesional will start working with me on the car, that will speed things up a bit.

Ok, took a while but I finished the engine bay to my liking.
There were some things I didn't like the first time around so I fixed them.
















Also a small update in the boot:



I will take pics tommorow of the painted engine bay itself, I forgot to take any today lol.

The inside of the bootlid and hood were painted aswel:

Zolang het om de binnenkant gaat zal ik me daar niet druk om maken.. Als je voor alle losse onderdelen een spuitcabine moet huren gaat het flink in de euro's lopen of je moet alles tegelijk doen wat voor een hobbyproject niet handig is. Ik heb het ook zo gedaan voor de binnenkant en grondlaag, als er een keer 10 stofjes in de hele auto zitten is het al veel volgens mij. Valt dus reuze mee.

Buitenkant zal vast wel in een cabine gebeuren.

Ziet er goed uit trouwens, Aram. Hoe gaat het ondertussen met de Impreza?
