idd achter spoiler er afgehaaldWell quite an interesting day on Saturday to say the least! The MLR held one of their popular 30 - 130 mph days, which also includes top speed runs... thought i would join in the fun, it would be rude not to!
First untimed run i lost my vortex generator @ 160mph, second run with the V-Box datalogger fitted i hit 182mph (192mph indicated on speedo), albiet with a rear spoiler bending very excessively with the air pressure, and the third run, well ... you tell me ... mabe not such a good idea removing the rear spoiler for less drag??!
I've put the You tube link in the Diary of my Website http://www.lancermods.co.uk - please access via this link - it would be nice to get at least a few hits from the video if nothing else!
*oh, edited to say it contains one single obscenity, sorry!
Thanks for the replies biggrin.gif
The spin was caused by the lack of rear spoiler, first run went fine with the spoiler in place. How many times have you seen an F1 car go off in a stright line when the spoiler blows off? They have more down force on the remaining spoiler admittedly, but same difference!
I'm fine, and the car lives to see another day, roll cage was actually on order before this incident! laugh.gif
Wheels are Rota yes - not as light as the Jap ones but alot cheaper; more money for NorthLoop trips laugh.gif
Gary - quite a few dropped out unfortunately sad.gif
Finally :
I lifted at 183mph and it only took 5mph for it to become unstable and went into a spin at 168 mph.
Maximum spin angle was 142.55 degrees at 114mph before starting to spin back the other way.
The spin last over over 330metres
