Followed by 15 minutes of non stop helicopter noise I decided to go have a look at where they were going. I could see them come over my house and head to the sea (very closeby) and pick up water, but I they disappeared behind the houses behind me. But as they returned almost instantly I knew it had to be close.
So I walked up the street a bit and I could see it. Right behind the old town there was smoke coming from the hill right next to it. Half of that hill already looked black and dead so they must have had it under control pretty quick.
It hasn't rained since may and we've had 100F+ temps since mid june. So if there's a fire they have to dive ontop of it or else it will turn into a massive fire in no time. This happened same spot 5 years ago aswell.
No fire planes this time, I did see them pass by but they didn't come for this hill, the heli's ended up going the same direction as the plane so maybe there's another fire elsewhere...

Ik heb het dumpen van het water een paar keer met de hoogste snelheid achter elkaar geschoten. Als ik tijd heb gooi ik er later nog wel een paar van online. Zie je het water slo mo gedumpt worden...
Blij dat het geen grote brand geworden is...
