Bilstein have completely miscalculated the setup. Now we change to ÖHLINS. We also going to ad some aerodynamics parts to increase the stability. We had 20% drifting at 180km/hour and 1,7G at 80km/hour in some corners.
Here is the spec we had last week at Nürburgring:
BMW E46 M3 CSL 2003
Basics: A BMW M3 CSL 2003 Nr 66 in BMW CSL production
Suspension: Bilstein PSS9 special made Nürburgring setup with H&R springs, H&R sway bars front and rear, carbonfibre front strut brace, adjustable front camber plates and adjustable Rear Camber arms.
Frontsprings H&R: HF 120mm 120-160N/mm, TF: 100mm 35N/mm singlefrequenze 2,8-3,0 Hz.
Rearsprings H&R: HF 100mm 160-200N/mm, TF: 60mm 50N/mm singlefrequenze 2,9-3,1 Hz.
Frontshocks Bilstein PSS9: adjustable 9 ranges 300/100 – 400/150 vid 0,52m/s.
Rearshocks Bilstein PSS9: adjustable 9 ranges 300/70- 370/120 vid 0,52m/s.
Exhaust: Supersprint lightweight racing all the way.
Spec: 100% Stainless exhaust system, Oversize 2x Ø 60 mm

Engine: 3,2 L Supercharged engine, new low-comp pistons,10,5:1 compression,
Vortec Super silent with water-cooling system, extra oil cooling system, new fuel system with catch tank and Bosch fuel pump. Extra oilcoolersystem. Carbon fibre enginecover. Carbon fibre airinduct. Modified oilfilterhousing. 55 degrees water thermostat.
Drive train/clutch: 3:91 ratio differential, Sachs Sinterclutch kit.
Brakes: Performance Friction brakes, complete setup all four wheels. Carbon Brake Backing Plates.
Front:
PFC ZR28 monobloc 4-piston multipad caliper
PFC 323x32mm Direct Drive disc
PFC 01 compound pads
Rear:
PFC ZR29 2-piston caliper
PFC 321x20mm Direct Drive disc

Wheels: BBS Racing split, F18”x9,5”, R18”x11” with Michelin pilot Sport Cup R, Front tires: 265/35/18”, Rear tires: 295/30/18”.
Exterior: Carbon fibre roof, hood, trunk, fenders, front and diffusor.
Interior: A lot of carbon fibre interior as standard CSL, Recaro race seats with 6-points harness, 2 different roll-cages, one for race and one for street. CarGuard alarm system with SMS messenger.

Well that was a fun few days i must say Anders!
Indead intresting to sit along as a bifharer next to Richard Göransson while he is giving loaded the beans around the ring We had some big time drama flights at Planzgarthen as well on the full lap flying down to Tiergaten and then the braking area upphill from Tiergarten , the bumpy area, well the car gets airborn there under braking. Quite a thrill, and a very no, no in the way the chassi should work, we agree on that.
I was in on sevral full sport auto laps, not driving T13 about 150m, well 2 in car then just warming up laps doing easy 7.55 sliding around all over. Set pressure later in T13 to sweetspot pressure around 2.0 bar, well reached a full lap then around 7.45-7.48min.
When we later see the split times we cearly se we lose about 2.5 second on long straight Döttinger höe when in industripool traffick jam vs when free on the long straight. All those slow MB CLK DTM blackline as well new M3 E92 (all whit the all new M-DCT gearbox doing heavy test) All M lovers are in for a M-DCT that will still be sporty the testdrivers told me, i said im not buying if it is like DSG no sporty in the way it change gears, they said not to worry
As well it is obvius Richard Göransson is not the reason the car did not go faster, rather the suspension setting is all wrong on the ring as a reason it hold RG back.
As a confirmation Richard Göransson later lap the Schubert BMW Z4m in VLN race faster than Claudia Hurtgren as well faster than Junior Stuck!
Even when we passing up Kesselchn entering Klostertal in loaded at 240km on speedo well its slightly a right hander in those speeds, well the car just lift on the litel bumb there and kind of moves a meter sideways (just prior to mut kurve, angstkurve)
A few notes, in Loaded we fly over Swedenkrytz big bumb at 280+ on speedo, as well we do Döttinge höe passing the pit on long staight at ca 295km on speedo. In my stock its 250+km on speedo over the Swedenkrytz big bump and its like 265-270km on speedo passing the pit on Döttinger höe, so there are clearly some speed in the car, sort the chassi and you are game Anders
All in all a great 5 days on the ring, fun as allways, thanks Anders!
Anders you are that guy that makes the world go around, whit out you it would be boring , im glad to join you guys every time on the ring laping.
I logged all thru the driftbox. Was to much going on on the ring and still at home so i have not had time to look thru the data that much, just a few thing, lap time, some G and speed. I might put the laps on googel erth so all could see the lap driven(speeds etc).
Some initial laps when i instaled and set up the box i was just fasten in the regular seat belts, wow got kind of seasick at that point flying all over the seat as RG was flying around, once fasten whit the real seat belts all ok then.
As well as back up when i was not in car, i stand at T13 during industripoole whit to separate timekeeper, one belonging to RG and its rather acurt as well my Sony ericksson K800 handy, it all match up and the driftbox is sweetspot and tell the right time. Its accually not in nead to check the driftbox as its alredy accurat compared to V-box, still we did it.
We got 5 very fast split times for us all to try to beat , i dont think we make it.
One exampel, 1.15min from the big jump at Planzgathen 2 (sprunghugel) to bridge at Tiergarten. Still we did start from T13 as Sport auto do, even so some splits around the track could be used by all to compare if on tourisfharen.
As this chasi was RG would driven faster whit a stock chassi i belive from my experiene sitting in as well driving the ring, he could accualy not give full throthel on some critical sections, as it was we were barely on the road anyway. The chassi did not rebounc at all due to it is to stiff. Great on the GP still, not on the ring. On the GP RG was doing 1.40min laps(not driving dunlop, rather the VLN stecke, but still compleate GP) Well he ran out of gas there so we did not accually do real timing there just a lap, as Anders just rented GP for 1 houer, still fun to be alone on the track
