Yes, it’s true! National VCA has received confirmation from Chrysler Executive Mike Accavitti that VOI.10 is a reality and as we anticipated......Viper will be coming home to its birth place in Michigan! The details, while subject to change, indicate that this will be a Viper Owners Invitational not to be missed. Preliminary plans call for VOI headquarters to be at the Motor City Casino Hotel, with additional hotel rooms at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and perhaps a third facility. Additional amenities may include track and competitive events at the Chrysler Chelsea Proving Grounds or other suitable facility; guided tours of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, the Saleen and Prefix facilities where Vipers are painted; the Chrysler Museum, Meadow Brook Hall/Dodge Mansion, and possible regional cruises, not unlike the famous Woodward Avenue Detroit classic car cruise. There will also be a river boat dinner cruise, but the action is far from over. We move next to the Penske/Chrysler sponsored Belle Isle race weekend, where we will have VIP accommodations to view an IRL race and ALMS GT race and, if circumstances permit, a VCA/Viper parade lap. Finally, vendors, live entertainment and hospitality facilities for the VCA will also be available at the Belle Isle race weekend. Add to the above the always special VOI goodie bag, Viper vendors and most especially, the camaraderie of hundreds and hundreds of fanatical VCA/Viper owners, many of whom will bring every generation of Viper to the event. Currently scheduled dates are August 27-31, and is a must attend event for the Viper Nation.
The above details are obviously still developing and subject to change. Nonetheless, our friends at Chrysler/Dodge/SRT will be making an email announcement on February 8th and will be setting up a special registration and web site for VOI.10 to be launched at the beginning of March.
LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE, Vipers will take over Detroit in 08. The National Officers, National Board and JRT have been working very hard to bring this event to fruition. We appreciate all your support and, of course, the support of Chrysler to underwrite the vast majority of this event’s costs and again shows the company’s commitment to the Viper, to the VCA, and to all of us who come out and have truly memorable experiences together. Please be alert on February 8th for the VOI email announcement to the general membership.
