Klassieker Veilingen

North American auction house, RM Auctions, is holding its first British sale at Battersea Park on October 31st, in association with Sotheby’s. In addition to Bernie Ecclestone’s 50-strong collection, RM Auctions has announced the addition of two further collections, namely a selection of cars from the stable of businessman Giuseppe Prevosti plus 15 examples from the Brazilian collector, Abba Kogan.

The 20-strong Prevosti collection ranges from one of the earliest Ferrari road cars, a superb 1953 Ferrari 212 Inter, to the Lamborghini Miura P400 of 1967. Two Bizzarrinis, a 1965 5300 BA4 GT America and a 1966 5300 GT Strada, will also be offered. The outstanding German items in Prevosti’s collection are two early 1956 Porsche 356s.

The 15 cars from the Abba Kogan collection include a 1922 Hispano-Suiza Boulogne and two Delages, a 1927 GP 1500/8 and the 1936 3.0 D6; plus one of the last Delahayes ever made, the 1950 235 MS.

[img:640:480]http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/600/ ... 69fmc4.jpg[/img]

Deze CSL special komt ter veiling:

BMW 3,0 CSL
The Sportscar Auction Geneva - October 6th 2007

colour: green
drive: LHD
type: Coupe
year: 1972
Chassis No.: 2275140
Price estimate: 28.848 - 41.212 GBP
VAT: No

In the 1971-72 rounds of the European Touring Car Championships the lightweight Ford Capri 2600 RSLs reigned supreme, winning 13 out of 16 races. BMW, represented by the Alpina and Schnitzer teams, needed a drastic solution. The CS had the power but was simply too heavy. BMW took the bull by the horns and recruited Jochen Neerpasch and Martin Braungaut, the two Ford men responsible for this success, and created BMW Motorsport GmbH.

By replacing wings, door skins and bootlid with aluminium panels, and reducing the gauge of the steel in the moncoque the weight was reduced by approx 160kg to 1200kg. Then the new company went to work in a wind tunnel in Stuttgart to develop an aerodynamic package to fully exploit these savings. The result was a deep front spoiler extension, a rear roof spoiler and a boot-mounted spoiler which transformed the car.

In 1973 the wind had totally changed. Ford found themselves under intense pressure and BMW went on to take the ETC Championship that year, before further developing the cars for IMSA in the USA and Group 5 in Europe. In the meantime a host of famous drivers including H J Stuck, Derek Bell, Nicki Lauda, Chris Amon, Ronnie Peterson and Gunnar Nilsson had helped put BMW Motorsport on the map.

The car on offer today was delivered new in 1972 in Germany, where as BMW historian Werner Oswald explains in his book Alle BMW Automobile 1928-1978, most private customers took delivery of their cars as CS models in order to have all of the luxury fittings of these cars for street use. This car is one of these, however the 7 inch wheels, wheel arch extensions, front and rear spoilers, Scheel sports seats, and tellingly the weight of 1165kg all point to the fact that it was supplied to full road going CSL specification.

The car passed through several owners in Germany, and at some time has been converted to resemble the later series Schnitzer fuel injected competition cars. It comes with German Fahrzeugbrief, Swiss from 13.20A and photographs detailing the work carried out. For those who remember the epic early ‘70s this is a car with full nostalgia potential, but also one with enormous high performance and fun potential.

RM Auctions in association with Sotheby's, is pleased to announce its premiere London sale featuring the Bernie Ecclestone Collection the collection of Sig. Giuseppe Prevosti, and cars from the Brazilian Collector Mr. Abraham Kogan. Held in the heart of London, the level of entries for the sale are second to none and will attract collectors and buyers worldwide.

From the Brazilian Collector Mr. Abraham Kogan

Specifications: 60bhp, 499cc, vertical twin-cylinder Honda engine, six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension, and dual circuit twin-disc brakes.

In 1953, John K. Brisse of England set a 500cc world record by driving for one hour at an average speed of 189.5 kilometres per hour. His achievement remained unbeaten until 1996 when Henri Julien and Bernard Boyer set about building a record car capable of exceeding Brisse’s average speed.

Julien had founded Automobiles Gonfaronnaises Sportives (AGS) in 1968, securing several championships over 36 seasons as an F2 constructor, before venturing into F1 construction in 1986. Bernard Boyer likewise had many years of experience as a racing engineer, particularly with the Matra team, where his cars secured three victories at Le Mans in the early 1970s and won the 1969 Formula 1 Championship and two World Sports Car Constructors Championships.

With support from Michelin and Honda France, among others, initial designs were made in early 1996, and the finished product was ready for testing the following year. Weighing a mere 290 kilograms, Julien and Boyer’s chain-driven aerodynamic streamliner had a carbon fibre and epoxy resin body finished in traditional French blue. A 499cc Honda V-twin engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox was fitted to the lightweight tubular steel chassis with four-wheel independent coil-over suspension. The spartan interior comprised a plastic bucket seat, a simple wooden steering wheel, and two gauges, one for temperature and another for rpm.

On 3 September 1997 Bernard Boyer shattered Brisse’s world record at the CERAM track in Mortefontaine, France, by driving at an average speed of 222.5 kilometres per hour for one hour. In fact, Boyer managed to beat four additional records for one-off, non-supercharged cars with displacement between 351 and 500cc, including average speeds sustained over 10 and 100 kilometres.

Julien and Boyer’s Record Car was offered at a Christie’s auction in Le Mans, France, in 2006, where it was acquired by Abba Kogan; it has remained in his private collection in England since then. Despite minor imperfections, the car remains in nearly as-new condition, from the paint and bodywork to the engine. Considering its historical significance and cosmetic and mechanical condition, it offers the racing enthusiast a record-setting car constructed and driven by the former head of Matra’s motorsports – one of the most innovative engineering environments of the post-war period. Addendum

Please note that this car is sold on Bill of Sale Only.

The Rosso Bianco Collection Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 wordt eerdaags aangeboden. MJUMMIE!

http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazin ... p?id=13561

While Ferrari and Porsche took centre stage in late 60s/early '70s endurance racing, Alfa Romeo, a company with a racing tradition dating back to the 1920s, was building up a presence that was to dominate the circuits by 1975. A collection of sports-racers from this exciting 10-year period formed a central part of the fabulous, now sadly closed, Rosso Bianco Collection at Aschaffenburg in Germany.

The eight cars comprise a 1967 2-litre V8 T33 Periscopica (the model which launched this legendary series), a streamlined 1967 T33 Mugello Spyder of the same vintage, a rare 1968 T33/2 Le Mans coda lunga (long tail) plus examples of both that year’s coda corta (short tail) T33/2 Daytona Coupe and the open T33/2 Targa Florio Spyder, a 1970-71 3-litre V8 T33/3 Spyder Corsa, an example of the wickedly pugnacious multi-tubular chassised 1972 T33/TT/3 Spyder, and the swansong 1976-77 turbocharged flat-12 Alfa Romeo T33/SC/12 Spyder, still in its evocative Fernet Tonic colours.

[img:267:160]http://www.classicdriver.com/upload/ima ... /img04.jpg[/img] [img:267:160]http://www.classicdriver.com/upload/ima ... /img03.jpg[/img]

1967 Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Periscopica’ Spyder
1967 Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Mugello’ Spyder

The cars have not run for some time but have been well preserved within the Rosso Bianco museum display and are generally considered to be in fine condition overall, several examples having been previously restored while others remain highly original. This is particularly true of the imposing T33/SC/12 - the most complex, most powerful and by far the most formidable of these machines with its combination of late-series monocoque chassis and twin-turbocharged flat-12 engine.

[img:267:160]http://www.classicdriver.com/upload/ima ... /img11.jpg[/img]

1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2 Targa Florio Spyder

[img:267:160]http://www.classicdriver.com/upload/ima ... /img05.jpg[/img]
1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2 ‘Daytona’ Coupe

This series of Alfa Romeo quasi-works racing sports-prototype cars originated in 1966-67 with ex-Ferrari Chief Engineer Ing. Carlo Chiti and his team of engineers at Autodelta SpA. The early 2-litre V8 T33s like the Periscopica derived much from contemporary Formula 1 practice, while their ‘H’ plan-form chassis structures embodied frontier-technology by employing large-diameter cast-magnesium frame members to form the ‘H’.

Subsequent models saw the original 2-litre, 4-cam, V8 fuel-injected engines enlarged from 2-litres, through 2.5 to a full 3-litres capacity, and even 4-litre CanAm units followed. Stressed-skin monocoque chassis replaced the original cast-magnesium ‘H’ frames in the 1970 T33/3s, followed by the modern ‘Birdcage’ multi-tubular chassised T33/TT/3 and a return to the aluminium-skinned monocoque in Alfa Romeo's most sophisticated form for the SC/12.

1968 T33/2 ‘Le Mans’ Longtail

[img:267:160]http://www.classicdriver.com/upload/ima ... /img08.jpg[/img]
1970/71 Alfa Romeo T33/3 ‘Targa Florio’

In period these Italian-red works team cars confronted the stiffest opposition the racing world could throw at them, competing wheel-to-wheel with Ferrari Dino 206Ss and Ferrari 312PBs, Porsche 907s, 910s and 908/3s, and even on occasion duelling with the mighty Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s.

These are the natural heirs to the Alfa Romeo racing heritage embodied in the immortal 8C-2300s and Tipo B Monoposto cars of the 1930s, and when the flat-12-engined T33s won the 1975 World Championship of Makes they followed in the footsteps of the classical P2 cars of 1924-25 which had first added the World Championship laurel wreath to Alfa’s famous badge.

18th April 2015
"Techno Classica", Essen, Germany

16th May 2015
Ascot Racecourse, Ascot, United Kingdom

Tussen de oren komt er nog wel aardig wat bij kijken voor zo'n 'warhoofd' als mij mocht ik ooit zoiets doen bv via Coys, deze> http://www.coys.co.uk/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
