Re: Project AE86.
Lets bring you guys up to speed on this.
Much to show so let's begin, part 1 of 4.
Needed to make some brackets for the rubbers, so I fired up Inventor:

Then a paper tester:

And then the real thing:

I always liked the ovalbox/round tip mufflers, so I needed a nice round tip:
Test:

And welded:

With attachements for the rubbers:

I also made a M18x1.5 bung for the o2 sensor on the lathe and milling machine, forgot to take pictures.
But here it is my home made exhaust, I am quite satisfied actually!
(crappy pic though)

Re: Project AE86.
Part 2 of 4,
And 2 pics of it under the car, I didn't take any pics of the final version hence the load lashing strap around the trunk.

After the brake master cilinder revision disaster I decided to buy a new one, Supra mk3:

With brake new lines:

Final touches to the fuel system, fixed up the the fuel pressure meter.
Made a stainless bracket:

Attached the last hose aswell:

And we have pressure!!

Re: Project AE86.
Part 3 of 4:
Hooked up the battery, used some nice connectors:

Then I was told I needed to have the original water temp sensor for the dash in the system somewhere...
Well I decided the neatest place was near the temp sensor for the ECU.
So I made a bung on the lathe:

Milled a bit:

Fits like a glove:

Welded:

Grinded:

Like it has always been there:

Re: Project AE86.
Part 4 of 4:
I needed to make a t-piece for the coolant reservoir in the system.
Back to the machines!
I used a piece of 60mm round aluminium.

And that made it time for a big step in the project, it was ready to get her engine wired up!
I have a deal with the guy from who I bought the engine that he would wire it up so I had to transport it across the country (not a big deal in Holland).
And there she is now, until the engine is running, hopefully it won't take to long.....

Next update will be when it is runniog probably.

Re: Project AE86.

Re: Project AE86.
She's running!

The O2 sensor was not in the exhaust when I made the video, that is why it sounds a bit course.
We put it in later and the engine was running really smooth and the exhaust note was very nice.
Only minus was a fault on the throtlle position sensor, I removed the side cap for cleaning and probably put it back on wrong, not an easy fix I fear.
Also I couldn't let it run long because the coolant system was fitted yet, hopefully I have things sorted by next week!
Still, I'm VERY happy.
Aram.
