I've been getting increasingly disenchanted with the FoS over the last few years, mainly (as others have said) due to the crowds and lack of previously-unseen cars. I did feel that this year's event was better in both respects - I certainly wasn't expecting to see the Alfa 512, and the assembly of 1908 Grand Prix racers was amazing.
The trouble is that we have become so accustomed now to this type of event, as pioneered by Lord March, being something that we could not have dreamed about 20 years ago that some of us have become blasé about it. But, personally, I have to say that I find it less enchanting than I used to - I suppose I'm not a big fan of the hype and adulation that surrounds the modern personalities and strands like the "Top Gear" supercars. Bring me my pipe and slippers!

En deze is ook wel humor:
As a Revivalist, I was thrilled to see that the theme this year was Hawthorn to Hamilton - celebrating 50 years of British motor sport. Picture of JMH on cover of programme, so read avidly. Soon found the article on Hawthorn but searched everywhere for anything about Hamilton, le Mans '53, '54, '55 or '56; nothing about C-types or D-types, much less the Talbot Lago or HWMs. Baffled.
Turns out it's some bloke called Lewis!
