Deze is wat meer algemeen wel mooi trouwens(al kan die nog iets beter) en tja eigenlijk hoort zo'n M1 toch wel een beetje ordi extreem te zijn, echt anders dan een gewone snelle wagen.

BMW want a car like this to be groundbreaking in every respect and the main talking points are technology , construction , lightweight materials , performance and efficiency a word that this class tends to overlook , It would be a high end performance car for tomorrow not for today, The rules are changing and BMW want to be the manufacturer who change the rules in this respect.
A fully fleged hybrid BMW exclusive performance car fills more headlines than another fifteen minute Supercar this time from BMW.
I have been reading some of the comments from the (in the know???) media
and they say the same thing over and over again R8 competitor , prelude to production , BMW running scared because of Audi...
Well now you have the R8 - what happens when the Mercedes SLC comes along-all modern technology , superior performance with the proposal of the media and totally outclasses the R8 - what then? R8 is yesterdays news , Then the Ferrari baby arrives again what if outclasses the SLC , SLC is yesterdays news the cycle will repeat itself.
A cycle BMW do not wish to be part of . hence why when Mercedes,Audi and Porsche were developing their models - BMW invested their R&D in "Efficient Dynamics" And expanding their product line.
What BMW want to do is break the cycle with something groundbreaking with a different perspective to what everyone else is doing .
look at the H2R Roadster Concept - Although the sleek aerodynamic body showcases some design elements with the upcoming Z4 Roadster especially at the front and rear and the Z-surface work on the side flanks. It also filled a purpose that a hydrogen supercar is a possibility. Putting the tech into a 1er does not fullfill the same emotions need to sell the idea of a concept like this.
But with this M1 hommage , The BMW CS Concept is not the only BMW Concept to showcase some interesting forthcoming elements of future design."

A BMW supercar might be powered by twin-turbo or quad-turbo petrol engine but they will assisted with either hybrid drive or if you can imagine 0 emission hydrogen power - A supercar with distributes 0 emissions??? unheard of but that is what BMW are very much interested in. Something equally unheard of , focused on the road and groundbreaking in technology. But with the rivals all bringing out their image building models there is hardly room to breathe for each manufacturer and of course the next one will be along in fifteen minutes. That is why such a product has to be further apart from the rest of the crowd Look at the upcoming 7er - in amongst the usual 7er attributes much of the marketing is geared towards it's class leading efficiency. It is time to dismiss the dinosaur tag and say that people can still buy these cars.
Leading word form Munich is BMW are pushing ahead with their i plan, which now looks like it could spawn three vehicles one by BMW , one by MINI (3dr ) and one under the isetta brand using co-operation from Magna Steyer and cut costs considerably with a partner by using components such as engines for petrol driven models from BMW's motor bike division. A plan BMW's financial experts are finding very hard to resist. Equally important are that BMW are also considering an eco-friendly small Coupe and Roadster (Z-0) based off this platform which would spawn these cars which again could also use electric or hybrid drive."

@Romo, zo te lezen wordt het dus een supercar met veel trekjes als de oude M1 en de concept, verder een showcase met een moderne bron qua aandrijving en techniek, met waarschijnlijk hydrogen als energie bron?

meer het Engels talige persbericht hier>>BMW heeft nog even doorgesleuteld aan het Hydrogen 7 bi-fuel model. Het resultaat is de Hydrogen 7 mono-fuel. Dit model verbruikt enkel nog waterstof en als bonus zuivert deze motor verontreiniging in de lucht. De motor produceert zelf geen CO2 of vervuilende stoffen, maar bestaande vervuiling in de lucht wordt wel door de motor geconsumeerd, waardoor de lucht die de auto verlaat, uiteindelijk schoner is dan daarvoor. Het nieuwe model kent een grotere actieradius dan zijn voorganger en de prestaties, comfort en veiligheid zijn volgens BMW minstens evengoed als in een normale BMW 7-serie.
De Hydrogen 7 mono-fuel is een demonstratie-productiemodel en dus geen prototype. Daarmee wil BMW benadrukken dat de auto theoretisch per direct in productie zou kunnen, maar vooralsnog is de auto ontwikkeld als showcase.
Zo kan het dus ook. Ik wil alvast negatieve bijtelling voorstellen, wanneer deze auto als leaseauto gereden wordt.

toch jammer...dan maar als Z5 M coupe ofzo? 8)Ik moet je gelijk weer teleurstellen, want het gaat hier om een knappe photoshop en niet om een nieuw prototype van BMW. Ik begrijp dat jullie allemaal hopen dat BMW met een spirituele opvolger komt van de M1. Maar tot nu toe blijft dat bij hopen, bidden en gissen. Ik zal deze foto in elk geval doorsturen naar BMW, wellicht dat het ze op goede ideeën brengt! (via: freshtarmac.com)

Ik vind het een bloedmooie auto! Lekker modern, maar met een heel mooi design dat teruggrijpt naar het verleden. Echt een heel net stukje werk wat de designafdeling van BMW hier neerzet!
