To put it simply... I would say it’s 997 GT3 performance for half the money. Am I allowed to say that??? Plus all the fun you know and love from a Lotus. Prepare yourself.

But how fast is fast?...I’m thinking of suggesting renaming it the Exceed S... what surprised me the most, and I’m not an easy man to surprise, was the level of speed the car reaches through the corners – don’t get me wrong, the flat out speed alone is impressive but what’s phenomenal at this stage is the acceleration, handling and stability through the corners – this car is really something else. It exceeds the level of performance that we thought was possible and it’s very confidence inspiring. It doesn’t leave you on edge, you always feel like you’re in control of the car – you don’t feel like it’s going to get away from you.

Quantum posted up a link to a Product News document on the new Exige S, so thought I'd take a look for any interesting points...

Wheels

One design, two different options. The standard design in black, or the optional 'Diamond Cut' version with the alloy exposed along the edges.



Interior

Standard

Looks mostly the same as current S2 Elise and Exige interiors.

Only available trimmed in black cloth.
Standard steering wheel
Limited carpet set
Cannot be ordered with the harness and cross bar option.

Leather
Full carpet set
Leather covered centre console, sills, door cards and vents
Premium sttering wheel in perforated black leather
7 leather interior colour options





Premium Sport Interior

Limited carpet set
Premium sttering wheel in plain black leather
Plastic covered sills

Technical

Engine

As previously known, 345bhp and 295lb/ft, however a dyno graph comparing against the Exige Cup 260 is also included.



Transmission

As per the Evora MY12, Toyota EA60 gearbox with Close-ratio gear set.

Brakes

Derived from the Evora S system. Cross drilled discs, AP-racing 4-pot brake callipers and braided hoses.

Suspension

Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs.

Standard setup balanced between track and everyday use.

Race Pack suspension settings optimised more towards track use and for the Pirelli Trofeo tyres.

Exhaust

Valved exhaust, carried over from the Evora MY12, with differing modes of operation.

Touring mode - Valve remains closed to reduce noise and is only opened at higher revs to prevent engine damage due to back pressures.

Sport mode - Valve open most of the time.

Race and DPM Off - Valve open all of the time.

DPM Switch

Introduced on the Evora and now standard across the Lotus range.



3 modes (4 on Race Pack equipped cars) - Touring, Sport, Race (where fitted), DPM Off

Touring mode puts all DPM systems in to their fully activated mode and is designed for normal daily driving conditions.

Sport mode relaxes the DPM systems.

Off disables all DPM features bar ABS.

Launch Control

Available only on cars equipped with the Race Pack. Can only be activated when the car is stationary and in Race Mode.

To use launch control the car must be:
Stationary
Engine coolant temperature between 80-110c
Steering wheel in the straight ahead position (a few degrees tolerance allowed)
Launch control not used in the last 2 minutes
No ECU/ESP fault codes present
Vehicle has not performed the maximum number of allowed launches (still to be defined)
Vehicle has covered more than 500 miles as logged by the ECU

maareuh lees die optie eens van launchcontrol...wat streng...en beperkt aantal?
anyway bij die optie/pack heb je wel een paar leuke extra's, launchcontrol gebruik je alleen op een sprint of 1/4mile ofzo.

De Exige S in Brussel IRL mogen zien en man wat een mooi ding Maar ook man man man wat een ellende om in en uit te stappen...dan is een elise toch makkelijker....of ben ik dan toch een stramme ouwe ak geworden

en ja in NL te duur, maja heb toch geen geld om er over na te denken doch ik houd het in de peiling in de 2de hands wereld maja...weer jaren geduld hebben of de staatsloterij winnen, de lotto kort 8 maanden meegedaan in de hoop....maar das echt prut en duurder dan de staatsloterij, one day I win (droomt ie)

Aha...foto is al geregeld 'k zie op de foto die kale Franstalige ook staan (links voor) die toen ik wilde instappen van alles in het frans begon te zeggen en laat mijn frans niet zo goed zijn 'k dacht dat hij zich afvroeg of mijn kont wel in het kuipstoeltje zou passen toen ik me moest omdraaien of misschien lag zijn stukje zeep wel onder de auto maar uiteindelijk bleek het hem er om te gaan of ik geen uitstekende knopen aan mijn broek had die het stoeltje konden beschadigen.....pffewww...liep dat weer ff met een sisser af voor mijn zelfvertrouwen

In gebroken wit ook erg mooi (maakt hem imho nog dikker) en ja als je zit dan zit je wel goed en maakt dat uitstappen niet zo veel meer uit.
