Got my new suspension, made in the UK by GAZ.

The car looked unfinished to me and that is because the centercaps were missing from the wheels, they are something little that, in my eyes, does alot for the looks of a car somehow.
So I ordered some via Jap Power here in Holland but they turned out to be HUGE, no idea why, but I suspect these wheels are also made for small off road vehicles that tend to have larger hubs.
Anyway, I decided they won't do so I made some of my own from PVC and 2 connectors:

Yesterday there was a large gathering of project cars called Dumpd in Ede Holland, my firsty car show ever and it was fun.
Lots of special cars and a few familiar faces like Ivan141 and Oldskull:

Ik vind de auto ook iets te laag voor het mooie.
Ik zag andere foto`s waarop ik de indruk had dat hij iets hoger stond.......ken dat...

Hans hij is donderdag achter 5mm omhoog gegaan en voor 5mm omlaag dus niet echt veel lager dan eerst?
Ik vind de hoogte perfect zo, hij lijkt op de foto misschien wat lager?

hij staat er zo wel strak bij, idd je zou denken voor en achter 10mm omhoog maar dan lijkt ie waarschijnlijk weer heel anders qua auto, nu staat ie eigenlijk best stoer, een Japanese street racer meer wat dat type wel kan hebben zo die gemaakt is (niet 100% origineel meer zeg maar)

Ik had halverwege het project m'n twijfels over de lakkleur, maar het plaatje is nu wel echt compleet. De auto valt met deze kleur lekker op tussen de rest

Er zitten zoveel dedicated track spullen op dat dit haast wel moet.

Over de hoogte, smaken zullen altijd blijven verschillen, de een vind hem te laag de ander vind hem mooi zo, ik hoor bij de laatste.
Een van m'n vrienden vond hem op de foto's ook te laag en zag hem daarna in het echt en vond hem toen wel weer heel mooi, dus de foto's kunnen de boel wat vertekenen.

Uiteindelijk ga ik wel een keer de baan op en wat driftdagen doen.
Maar dat gebeurd pas nadat er betere remmen opzitten en de auto een andere ECU heeft.
Nu is ie niet circuit waardig.

Was op Weeze inderdaad, die groeve ligt gelijk links als je van de doorgaande weg afkomt.

So it has been a busy few weeks, I needed to prepare the car for a trip to the UK and Wales.

I needed:

- New brakes, the standard ones were pretty dangerous.

- A higher oilpan, the roads in the uk and Wales are not free of stones at times and it is hanging very low to ground.

- The right hand side Cusco camber plate, the ones I bought from ebay suck and have play on them, I kindly received a Cusco replacement from a friend, the left side because that was worst of the two, but the caster point was 5 mm more to the front. So my alignment was fooked but Nohachi couldn't locate the other one that easily.

- Sound deadening, it was way to loud for long long distance driving.

More things are needed but there was no time or money to change anything, and the ones above were paramount.


So after looking hard if I could get a set of AP racing brakes time ran out and it was quite clear a set of AP racing was still out of my budget.
Grp4 had a nice kit of Wilwood brakes: http://grp4fabrications.com/product_inf ... cts_id=918" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so that was what I bought.

The only mishap making it not plug and play was the fact that the disc hit the arm, most likely because of the rca kit lowering it, so a bit of bashing was needed:





But besides that it is a nice kit.



Than I covered the floor with sound deadening, yeah I know its extra weight, but it still is my daily driver so it is going in.















The Cusco camberplate wasnt found in time so i had a base plate cut with the whole adjustment section moved 5mm back.
Unfortunatly the play on the right hand side was already getting worse so that wasn't very nice to drive around with in the uk and Wales to make an understatement.
But at least I could have a quick alignment check before I went over so that would safe me from having to throw away my tires after a week.

Every year we are going to the UK doing the Halloween tunnelrun, that requires a bit of dressing up the car.
This year we chose some camo theme with stickers, the camo was done with plastidip:

Wales, so many sweeping roads, tight twisties and spectaculair sights, super friendly people and shitty weather, awesome!


Was it wise to make the skid plate?
Well yes, I lost count how many times I hit it:






I kinda like the camo, so I am leaving it on for now and maybe add some more, what do you guys think?
