That will become very longs days for you, I believe.

When I talked to you on the phone yesterday, I could hear and almost feel your enthousiasm.

Finally we picked up our Cerbera on the 3rd July. Let the adventure begin :D

Part One.

It was both a sad and happy day. We were both sad as it was the last time we drove in our Chimaera. We did nearly 50,000 miles in 4 years. It was a top TVR and will be missed. It only ever let us down once and that was a failed battery.

We finally got to drive our Cerbera at 1:30pm on Tuesday (3rd July) as there were a couple of small problems that needed sorting out in the morning.

Spec:
1997 Cerbera 4.2 (P580NOX)
48,500 miles
Silver Starmist with Blue / Grey two-tone interior
FULL TVR service history + just serviced
Air Con + full leather interior
NEW : brake discs and pads all round
NEW : x4 tyres
NEW Clutch 10,000 miles ago to latest spec.

ALL I can say, is pushing that little black button to start the car for the first time - knowing that the Cerbera was now OURS was amazing  Did I mention that the car has a sports exhaust  The sounds is both loud !!!! and amazing

The first miles in the Cerbera were great. The sound and feel is very different from the Chimaera. AND the over-run, I love all that popping and banging ... The first few miles over it was then time to find a petrol station and fill the Cerbera with petrol before heading for the EuroTunnel.

OLD & NEW

The MONSTER

Next : I get wet at the petrol station !!

glad you enjoy your new pride  but why the 4.2? I guess and seeing prizes over-there the 4.5 and 420 TVR hp is not that much more money?

guess the car feels a lot different then the short ranged torque curved Rover V8 I bet its a lot more racy and nice power curve...

Always wanted one, also have some brochure's and maps from those cars, my favorite number one is ofcorse the Boss Cerbera, but next comes the Cerbera 4.5 lightweight new model after 2000 and with Red Rose conversion 8) its a monster...though scary for reliable and RHD

have fun and enjoy 8)

Andrew,

As I already told you, I think your Cerbera is amazing!! I really loved our ride last week, and I'm looking forward to the next ride (tomorrow  ).

I like the color very much, and the sound of your sport-exhausts is just stunning. The little tunnelruns we did were very nice .

Here are 2 pictures of your car.

I also have two photos of the Cerbera 4.2 of Andrews neighbour. I'm crazy about the color and the interieur. Just fabulous!

We have a date Andrew, 4.2 has the quicker throttle-bodies :D

Only modded 4.5s have 420+ hp.

The dark devil looks great, but ditch those ugly spiders. They break under hard driving btw.

A Cerb unreliable? Not when cared for.

Cheers, A.

Congrats with your new car Andrew. It's a magnificent car. 8)

The Cerbera looks a lot lower/sleeker than the Chimaera.

Like lots of TVR stuff the spiders were never properly tested and they do break at trackday or heavy circumstances. Of course you can buy a pair of new ones but these guys:

Silverstone Performance and Style:
"Our philosophy is to develop upgrades that deliver reliability/durability advantages and higher performance. An example is our signature SP12 lightweight motorsport wheel which is stronger and lighter than TVR’s original equipment ‘spider’ wheel, less expensive and with a correct version of the SP12 available for each TVR model, completely uncompromised. The SP12 also allows for a tyre upgrade path."

[img:800:493]http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/ ... 173988.jpg[/img]
Hot SP wheels under Phils Hot 4.5.

[img:800:440]http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/ ... 184126.jpg[/img]
They look damn fine.

[img:800:448]http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h254/ ... 184178.jpg[/img]
Nothing beats a pair of these though: only 20 wedges came with 'em.

Most TVR's have their soft spots updated now. Original 4.2s came with 340 horse. Most new ones have updated intake, exhaust, ecu and all that and tip 400. A good 4.5 caries 420 horses.

Feck me it's a proper car.

I hope you can scare the s**t out of my baby.

Heej Andrew,

I had a really really good time at your place. Nice weather, very nice cars and very good diner with a superb chef.
Like you said, that was a really good/the best way to spend a day. The cars were just amazing, it puls a smile on my face everytime I think about it. Nick is a really cool guy and just a sick car. Alfred also is a good man with allot of experiences, two amazing Cerbera's in one parking place. Crazy!

Your Cerbera is very nice, the acceleration and how easy it gets to his speeds is just fenomenal! I saw your smile everytime the beast pops and bangs, just touching the brakes and then the great really loud noise from the exhaust! What a car!

The next time we should do a barbeque somewhere in a country east, you know what I mean. You will get mail from Mark about it, I am looking foreward meeting you and Jeanine again.

bye, Steven

ps. You have to make a new "Mijn Auto" for the Cerbera 8)

Well me and mu girl went to meet up at Andrews place last Sunday to see them and the cerb offcourse!!!!

Well now I am completly in love with the cerbera, what a fantastic car and the sound is more than amazing!!!! I am now completing my manta and after that I will sell it..... Then save up some money and go to the island to find my own cerbera!!!!! This will be next year.... 8)

I also took Andrew for a ride in my M Coupe and his neighbour was going for a spin in the black monster... Only thing I was really happy about is that my M Coupe can keep up with the 4.2 cerbera... Maybe not on the really high speeds, but I was still quit happy...

Really enjoyed being there and a lot of credits go to Jeanine for making a nice lunch..

Next time an my place Andrew!!

Loud and mean beastie. To really drive it hard you must keep at toppower. Now that's for the topdrivers only.

It'll take a while before one dares. After that: supercars beware!
