Is een M235i Racing...
...er waren onder de M235 Racing Cup rijders aardig wat klachten over de wegliging van de auto, die zijn ze nu aan het aanpakken door o.a. een grotere achtervleugel waardoor de auto stabieler en rustiger zou reageren. Het rauwe randje zou er wel mee afgaan.

Overigens wordt er ook wat vraagtekens bij gezet of deze tekortkomingen ook nog voor de vetraagde introductie van de M2 gezorgd zou hebben.

Ik vind die zogenaamde klachtenregen van bepaalde M235i Racing deelnemers aardig bedenkelijk.
Het is 'n >1400kg kar met bijna 't halve interieur er nog in, op slicks en 'n 8 traps flipperautomaat en 'n min of meer standaardmotorblok.

Niet één of ander >500pk racemonster.

Ik dacht dat dit 'n beetje bedoeld was als instap/gentlemen cupcar?

Ik heb ermee gereden en hij valt zeker niet tegen. Best wel een leuke racer voor het geld!

Verhaal erachter destijds was ook best grappig (aanleiding van de eerste race M235i).
In het begin waren ze ook op bijvoorbeeld de Ring nog niet snel genoeg (9.20-9.25, ongeveer 10 sec langzamer dan de CSL.....), BMW heeft er best tijd ingestoken, wat improvements en auto's rijden nu inmiddels al 9,08 (onderstel/aansturing motor/bak etc). Qua rijden schijnt het inmiddels ook best wel leuk te zijn, in het begin te onrustig. Meen ook dat bij BMW er fors bij ging per auto. De bak is voor vorig seizoen al gewisseld voor de M4 bak meende ik....

Hadden de nieuwe niet beter M2 racing van kunnen maken?

It is important to remember that I am talking about CSL specifics and not about this car but another car.

The purpose and ability to bring something radical to the performance segment lies within the genes of the CSL Hommage. BMW and BMW M through BMWi are now at an exciting stage even ahead of their competitors to introduce an exciting new linage of CSL remodels evoking the very same reasons they were introduced in the first place to develop Motorsport technology and innovation for the road.

If we look at the M4 GTS its lighter,faster and more precise than the standard car plus it uses very new exciting innovation with Water Injection technology to distinguish it further from the standard M4 Coupe as does the increase in weight reduction innovation and the more direct response of the dynamics.
You might question what purpose for an M4 CSL?

It could use the same ideas but distinguish further by an increase in weight reduction innovation but incorporate some of BMWs latest thinking in getting the best of performance with an e-boost system demonstrated on the CSL Hommage. And that innovation is being tested on M4s today.

As everything begins for Motorsport BMW M have fabricated chassis sections and components out of CFRP including actual wheels and steering wheels as well as areas in the suspension out of CFRP for Motorsport evaluation, it is not impossible to include in a special road car. There is a conceptual lab in Munich that testing various CFRP applications in BMW,Rolls-Royce and even MINI's with some Cooper S models testing a CFRP hood.

The programme I have seen to reflect the creative conception of BMW Ms new strategy starts from Road car - Road Car Special Packet(Competition) - GTS - CSL. Identity is important so that is why there is an evolution for each stage with the CSL using conceptual visual ideas from the CSL Hommage but applying them realistically. It will be the first modern BMW Batmobile. And again its mission is to bring the competitive edge of Motorsport innovation to the road exactly like the E9 set out to do.

Of course this needs further funding to innovate and apply so there will be new but for the first time a BMW X3M and BMW X4M as well as M Performance versions of the BMW X1 and upcoming BMW X2. The forthcoming BMW Z sports car will be positioned like BMWi as a book between the BMWi and BMW M.

Long Beach Blue

Intussen is bekend dat de bandenmaten van de M2 ondanks het zelfde onderstel als een M3-4 toch afwijkend zijn;

245 voor en 265 achter, 19" uiteraard, das het zelfde als een 1M, omdat de M2 breder is, lijkt het wat iel op bovenstaande foto.

Naar mijn beste weten niet, de IAA zal de M4 GTS laten zien, met 470+PK en water injectie.

M2 duurt nog even, intussen nog meer LBB foto`s, lijkt me niet verkeerd;

Het duurde even voordat ik wist wat LBB is. Inmiddels ben ik er achter dat het de kleur Long Beach Blue is. Volgens mij word je die kleur vrij snel zat. Is persoonlijk, maar ik vind het net iets te opvallend.

Die gasten daar zijn wel freaks, hele discussies over de achterschermen en of er wel/geen M-spiegels op komen.

Geweldig ding natuurlijk. Stoere looks, snel, zeer krachtig, redelijk functioneel, speels, handbak of DKG.

hier vind ik de kar lekker dik lijken, korte overhang voor

Erg jammer dat Donington Grau niet leverbaar is, dat was hem dan zeker geworden.
